Key project facts

  • The scheme started with a full feasibility study to establish both physical and financial viability of the project
  • We completed analysis of the site constraints, legal title, purchase agreement and existing planning consent documents (for industrial use)
  • We secured viability under PADHE guidelines by agreeing a decommissioning for the adjacent gasometers
  • Challenging site constraints such as attenuation pipe no-build zone, with river and railway lines bounding the site
  • We developed a blended bespoke and radial design working with stakeholders such as Network Rail and the Environment Agency, fitting the customer’s needs and optimal design into the above constraints
  • By flexibly designing the build within the site constraints and using CODE’s kit of parts as a base, the scheme is due to start on time and to budget in spring 2020

“The suite will be more efficient and modern as well as being in a better location than the current city centre suite.

This will enable officers to deal with detainees and return to public facing duties more quickly and therefore to continue to make Nottinghamshire a safer place to live, work and visit.”

Inspector Duncan Collins, Project Manager, Nottinghamshire Police
